Children aged 6 to 10 are invited to explore Persian traditions and enhance their Farsi skills in a special Yalda Night workshop hosted by Danaa School. The free, interactive event, scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 15, 6:30 p.m. London time, will take place online and combine storytelling, music, and cultural activities.
The workshop, titled “The Watermelon Story of Yalda Night,” will feature a vibrant program including storytelling in Farsi, improvisational Persian music inspired by Darvish Khan’s themes, riddles, and musical games. Participants will engage in activities designed to improve their listening and comprehension skills in Farsi, while connecting with their Iranian heritage.
Meet the instructors:
- Parimah Abdoli: A specialist in teaching music and storytelling to children, Abdoli has extensive experience in designing story-based programs to reinforce Farsi language skills.
- Arman Hashemian: With eight years of teaching Iranian music and four years of instructing children in singing, Hashemian emphasizes using music as a tool for learning Farsi.
The event promises to strengthen cultural identity, especially for children living outside Iran, by offering an authentic experience of Persian customs and traditions.
Participation is free, with space limited to 40 attendees. Families interested in registering their children can sign up by visiting Danaa School’s Yalda Night Workshop page.
