Why Danaa

Why learn to cook with Danaa

Six reasons families choose live group classes over a recipe blog or a video they can't ask questions in.

Live Group Classes

Cook alongside other students in real time, sharing the kitchen energy of a real class — not a solo video call.

Taught in Persian

Classes are taught in Farsi, so recipes, techniques, and family stories behind them are never lost in translation.

Real Home Cooks & Practitioners

Learn from people who grew up cooking these dishes, whichever cuisine the class covers — not recipe-card instructors.

Four Class Tracks

Whether you're baking bread, plating desserts, mastering the grill, or mixing drinks, there's a track built around it.

Flexible Scheduling

Book classes at times that work across time zones — ideal for diaspora families in Europe, North America, and beyond.

Cultural Depth

Food carries the same heritage as language and poetry — cooking is another way for families to keep a culture's traditions alive, whichever cuisine they're learning.

Questions

Before you book

Do you teach Nowruz recipes specifically?

Yes — Nowruz cooking is one of the most requested topics across our classes, covering the traditional Nowruz spread including sabzi polo mahi, kuku sabzi, and festive desserts, timed so you're ready before the holiday.

Do I need any prior cooking experience?

No. Classes are built for complete beginners as well as people who already cook but want to learn a specific cuisine's techniques.

Are the classes private or group sessions?

All cooking classes are live group sessions, so you'll cook alongside other students in real time, guided by your teacher.

What ingredients or equipment do I need?

Ahead of each class, you'll get a shared shopping list for that session's dish, with substitutions suggested for ingredients that are hard to find outside Iran.

Can children take cooking classes?

Yes, with parental supervision recommended depending on the dish and the child's age — especially anything involving stovetop cooking.

In which language are classes taught?

All cooking classes are currently taught in Persian (Farsi). More languages may be added later.
