The Physics Exam Gap

Why students who know the theory still drop marks on Physics papers

GCSE Physics is the most mathematically demanding of the three sciences. Students need to recall equations, rearrange formulae, convert units, interpret graphs, and apply concepts to unfamiliar contexts under time pressure. Understanding the topic is not enough if the working is unclear.

✗ Equations not recalled correctly

Students who have not drilled equations repeatedly make errors in the first line, often losing method marks across the whole question.

✗ Unit conversions go wrong

Missing a conversion from km to m, kJ to J, or minutes to seconds can cost marks even when the physics is understood.

✗ Graph questions are skipped

Distance-time graphs, velocity-time graphs, I-V characteristics, and decay curves appear regularly. These are high-value marks when practised properly.

✗ 6-mark questions lack structure

Extended answer questions require a logical chain of reasoning, correct terminology, and clear explanations — not just isolated facts.

Who It Is For

Who is this course for?

Focused support for students who need stronger calculations, better exam technique, and confidence with the hardest Physics topics.

Struggling with Calculations

For students who understand the physics but lose marks when equations, units, and working are involved.
