Greeting & Basics — سلام و لطفاً
The foundation of every shopping trip — politeness opens every door

Culture note — تعارف (Ta'arof): Persian culture has a complex system of ritual politeness called تعارف (taa-rof). When a shopkeeper says "قابل شما رو نداره" (it's not worthy of you) about an item, they don't mean it's bad — it's a polite formula. When someone insists you take something for free, you're expected to refuse twice before accepting. Understanding تعارف is understanding Iran's social fabric. Teach your child: in Farsi, politeness is always layered.
Finding Items — پیدا کردن چیزی
Ask where things are and whether the shop has what you need

Is it fresh? Is it organic? What's the difference?

| 📅 | What is the expiry date? | تاریخ انقضاش چیه؟ | taa-rikh-e en-ghe-zaa-sh chi-ye? | انقضا = expiry. Always check this on dairy and meat. |
| 🤔 | What is this? | این چیه؟ | in chi-ye? | Simplest question for unfamiliar products. Kids use this constantly. |
| 💬 | What's the difference? | چه فرقی دارن؟ | che far-ghi daa-ran? | For comparing two similar products. |
| ⭐ | Which one is better? | کدوم بهتره؟ | ka-doom beh-ta-re? | Asking for a recommendation — a very Persian thing to do. |
